Agim Faja

Was born in Shijak, Albania on March 14, 1939. He graduated from Pedagogical High School in Elbasan in 1954 and then goes to Lyceum Jordan Misja in Tirana, where he finished his studies in 1958. In 1960 he started to follow the studies at High Institute of Art, which was just opened at that time, and takes lessons from artists like Guri Madhi, Kilica.

Agim Faja has participated in many collective and personal exhibitions . In 1987 he awarded the title ” Meritorious Painter ,” and in 1996 the then President Sali Berisha gives the title “Torch of Democracy”. He was honored with the title “Honorary Citizen of Shijak”.

He began with illustrations and started to collaborate with different authors in 1959. In 1966 he started to illustrate “Ancient Albanian Fairytales” of Mitrush Kuteli, one of the best Albanian bestsellers. He is also one the illustrators of “Abetare”.
